A LITTLE BACK STORY
We welcomed our rainbow baby into our family a few short months ago, and as the first grandchild on both sides, he is definitely a very loved baby. I thought it was going to be much more difficult to conceive since I have hypothyroidism and PCOS, so we were very surprised, excited, and of course scared when we found out.
I had so many questions during pregnancy and there are some great apps out there to help along but I found that especially after giving birth, that there is a lack of Canadian specific information out there, and that I had to spend a lot of time on discussion boards to get answers. Even then, there are so many opinions that it really is hard to know what is right or the best thing for baby.
WE ALL WANT TO MAKE THE BEST CHOICES
There are so many mommy blogs out there, but I haven’t found any that had our unique Canadian perspective and issues.
That’s why I decided to start Canadian Mama – for US. We all have something in common, we want to make the best choices we can for our kids.
Sometimes it can be difficult to find answers, or you just don’t have the time to be searching all over the internet. You need an answer or advice NOW. I get it and want to help.
I want this site to be a resource for all the Canadian Mamas out there. Of course, some things will be Ontario-centric as that is where I live, but there will be plenty of topics that moms across Canada will be able to relate to.
A few issues I plan to discuss are maternity leave, breastfeeding, formula feeding, starting solids, saving money, losing weight postpartum, newborn essentials, and so much more.
If you ever need a hand or have ay questions, feel free to leave them below and I will be more than happy to help you out. Hope you enjoy the site and find it useful!
All the best,
